Fab Farrell’s super brace
12:34pm Thursday 9th September 2010

WARRINGTON’S John Farrell secured a fantastic brace of victories in his Formula Ford at Oulton Park on Saturday.
Competing in the Avon Tyres Formula Ford Championship pre-1990 races, he started his first race from pole position and dominated to take the win by eight seconds.
Starting from the front in race two, he led from the lights to the chequered flag despite being under pressure from the second placed car.
Local racers Chris Chisnall, Neil Patten and Neil McArthur raced against each other in the post-1989 Formula Ford races.
Patten achieved a podium finish in race two, finishing third after his first-race fourth position while Chisnall was always on his tail, finishing fifth and fourth in the two races.
Andrew Lennie raced his Escort XR3i in the BRS Recovery Ford XR Challenge.
When red flags stopped the race, Lennie was running fourth overall and leading his class.
Warrington’s Kevin Begley competed in the Avon Tyres Caterham Roadsport Championship.
He finished race one in eighth place after climbing steadily through the field but accident damage in a chaotic second race forced him to retire two laps before the end.
