Warrington Wolves fan Neil has just the ticket for friends Down Under
5:10pm Friday 27th January 2012
RETIRED builder Neil Moore bought 10 tickets at The Halliwell Jones Stadium for Warrington Wolves’ clash with NRL club South Sydney Rabbitohs.
The 50-year-old from Westbrook took them Down Under on Boxing Day for friends who live in Australia and will be meeting up for the match that marks the end of Wolves’ three-week pre-season training camp in Sydney.
Neil, who likes to spend English winters in the sun and this year chose Australia, is a former pupil of Penketh High School and has been attending matches since he was a teenager.
Quite a day is in store for him on Saturday.
He has paid $220 to climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge before making his way over to Redfern Oval for the game.
Eddie Carey will be one of the men to benefit from Neil taking over the tickets and was due to fly into Sydney with other ‘Warrington lads’ on Monday.
Neil’s old school pal said: “I live on the Gold Coast, having migrated from Latchford in 1968 and am an ex-Greenalls employee.
“We will be having one or two beers with Neil.”
Any Wolves fans who have made the trip to Australia are welcome to send us their pictures and details of what they've been up to.
